About

The Boston Section of ASQ was originally established as The Boston Quality Society on October 20, 1945 as an outgrowth of a Navy sponsored “industrial quality discussion group” program. By 1946, The Boston Society (in concert with other similar groups including those in Hartford and Buffalo) became one of the founders of the American Society for Quality Control (ASQC) and became the Boston SECTION, number 0100, (that is 01 for Region 1 and 00 for the FIRST section).

Today the Boston section continues to be one of the leading sections in ASQ.
