ASQ Boston Section announces Community ‘Good Works’ Program -- Benefits All Involved.

February 6, 2006- The Community Good Works program is a successful response to our members who were seeking a way to help ASQ engage non-traditional stakeholders, reach out beyond the ASQ community, promote quality, and tell others how quality professionals can make a difference in everyday life. For more information click here

In addition to an increased awareness of Quality and Quality Professionals, the Community Good Works program rewards all involved—professionals and private citizens alike—while it continues its advocacy role of spreading the word about quality

With several success stories now under its belt, the Community Good Works program is expanding to the ASQ sections. The Boston section has initiated a pilot program that has established the process and infrastructure to implement the Good Works program in our own community.

Here’s how it Works

The Community Good Works program provides $5,000 in matching grants along with vital quality expertise to community-based, not-for-profit organizations engaged in local projects. The quality experts use their knowledge and skills in helping to design and implement quality-improvement plans.

As a Quality Professional, there’s a lot of value in the Good Works program for you in addition to the people it directly benefits.

How can involvement help you?

Increased exposure for our section at a local level, via print and electronic media.

Increased recognition of ASQ and what it can accomplish on a local level.

The potential to tell your story at an upcoming section meeting and other forums.

The recognition from having your story as content on section/forum/division website as a case study or a “how to” success story.

When do we start!

This Spring, the ASQ Boston section will define and support a quality improvement project under the Good Works umbrella that demonstrates the positive effects that quality has on the communities in which we live. These projects are another way that ASQ is helping to Make Good Great™.

Your section leadership team is asking you all to consider a project that uses quality principles to improve your community? To learn more about the Good Works Program and how to get started:

Thanks!
